Born in 1965 in the vibrant town of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Branden now finds inspiration in the breathtaking landscapes of Hathersage, nestled in the heart of the Peak District. A passionate artist and thinker, he graduated with a Fine Art degree from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 1998, a milestone that catalysed his creative journey.

Branden's artistic roots run deep, with early works heavily influenced by the industrial backdrop of his upbringing. His large-scale concrete sculptures from this period reflect the raw power and gritty beauty of the working environment he once knew. Through a meticulous process of investigative drawing, he reworked and reevaluated these pieces, fostering a profound connection between his past and present.

Today, Branden's practice continues to evolve as he explores the interplay between architectural elements and organic structures. His vibrant paintings and delicate collages combine fragments of paper with dynamic textures, resulting in bold abstract forms and ethereal floating images that invite viewers into a realm of visual poetry. Each piece is a testament to his ongoing quest for discovery, inviting an exploration of the intricate relationships between the built environment and the natural world.
